What a Day! Oh, and a Blog Vision / Mission Statement Too!

Talk about the day from hell! I started work at 6:15 this morning, and by the time my boss showed up at 7:30, I told him in all honesty that Murphy (you know Murphy from Murphy’s Law?) not only smacked me in the head, he then threw me to the ground and beat the crap out of me. Oh, how little did I know that the morning was the easy part. I won’t go into it, but trust me, today was NOT a good day…
As I’m taking little breathers through the day, I’m working on my blog post for the day in my head. Normally I have wordpad open on my computer and type alittle here and there. Not today! No time! Plus, as shown by my last two posts Are You 1 & 2, I tend to talk alot, so I’m not sure if I should have 1 LONG posting or break it up into posts that are easier to digest. I’m sure that’s a writing style thing and will come in time…
It didn’t end after work was over, oh no! My normal commute is 45 minutes long. It took 2 hours and 30 minutes! I work in Southern Indiana but live in Western Kentucky. The twin bridges of Henderson KY are having major work done to them, so the normal 2 lane bridge is down to 1 lane of traffic. Fun fun…
OK, enough complaining. But I have to say, “There, I said it, I feel better.” If anyone can post what movie that came from, I’ll send you $5 via PayPal. All I can say is good luck in finding it!
I’ve put off my original posting about the business of blogging and what the bloggers are actually doing till tomorrow. I was going over my comments from today when this one caught my eye . I enjoy when people visit my blog. So I went over to PaHa’s blog at Internet & web 2.0 and sure enough he gave my two posts top billing! I started writing my thank you comment and things took a life of their own
“Thank you for the linking of my two posts! I’m glad that you enjoyed them so much. You described my blog as ‘matter of fact.’ I never really thought of it that way. I’m a believer in honesty. I’ve read too many blogs where, while I’m not close to being an expert, you could tell they were writing about the subject just to have a post about it; they write alot about nothing. I hope to bring my actual experience in running a business (offline at the moment, but creating an online toe-hold is in the cards) and sharing it. There are hundreds of blogs out there about making money online, but how many about running a business? Again, thanks for the comment. Hope to see you around!”
Ever had a moment where you are typing what you want to say, and more just comes out? After I had finished typing, I went back and read it again (I’m a horrible speller) and thought, damn, that’s a good as any description of my blog and what its about. So, here’s to honesty and sharing my business experiences and lessons learned with you all. Hope you enjoy them!
