Something You Need to Know About — RSS Subscription & Google Reader!

Here are some reader suggested articles:

I read alot of blogs. I’m constantly looking for more blogs to read about blogging, making money online, and Internet businesses in general. Problem is that there are SO many blogs out there about various ways to make money online that it creates an sensory overload in trying to remember the different pages. Bookmarking doesn’t help; with such a huge list of bookmarks, they all look the same.

Welcome to the world of RSS subscriptions!

An RSS subscription allows you to enter a blog’s (or normal web page) feed address into a RSS reader. The reader (either a program on your computer or an online reader) will then setup a channel for that blog where you have access to all the posts for that blog. Updates to the blog are sent via the subscription. Think of it like a on-demand service for blogs. You can switch between blogs with a click and read what you want. Very handy and much easier to organize than a list of bookmarks.

To get the most out of your RSS subscriptions, you should really use a reader. The only reader I’ve ever used is Google’s Reader. You logon via your Google Account and select reader. Copy the RSS’s url shortcut into the +add subscription bar and you’re patched into that blog’s feed. Nothing can be easier! As an added bonus, anywhere you can log into your Google account, you can log into the Google Reader.
