Desty’s Gold Starred Articles October 2 2007

Here are some reader suggested articles:

We start off this week with BONTB’s article Using “You Comment I Follow” to Build Blog Links.  A simple to article to build up a nice link count for your blog.  I don’t advertise the fact that I use DoFollow beyond my articles.  I totally agree with the article’s suggestion that you stay on topic.  From first hand experience, I delete what I consider spam comments; everyone does.  I don’t go for the comment:

Nice blog.  Here’s my site about businesses http://www.destyonline.com

I’m willing to put up with the “nice blog” comment, but when you just throw your non-related url in the comment, uh uh, sorry, not going to happen.

On the related topic of comments, Paul from O’Flaherty Blog give us Spammers Make It Personal.  Paul gives an insight into his comment moderation.  Given my tactics on comments and trying to turn spammers into readers, if the comment itself isn’t spammy, I’m fine with the URL part of the commentor’s identity.

Performancing.com throws an excellent article titled Why Good Bloggers Have an Advantage in SEO.  This is one of those articles that really gets you to thinking.  How are you doing in your online marketing?  What can you do better?  I tend to think in terms of what activity I can do that takes the least amount of time but gives the best in terms of rewards.  Time generally tends to be what limits us in our actions.

Another great article about SEO, this time from Strategic Internet Marketing titled Better Rankings by Reconfiguring In-Site Link Popularity.  I’m always a sucker for SEO articles.  It’s not that I’m dim-witted by any means, but the easier the articles are in making their point and spreading information, the better I like them.  Everyone should be interested in SEO for their sites.

Thanks for link, and mentioning my blog, I also agree with your article. Do you use any anti spam plugin?

I use your standard Akismet plugin. It catches alot of spam, but there’s so much that still gets through. Every comment that you see on Desty Online has been read and approved by me. It might take a day or two, but I see them all.

The way I follow is technorati, as many links I get the more I comment. But on top of that I visit also other blogs to inspire my writing.

Thank you for linking to one of my posts, appreciate that.
