Desty Online’s 1st PPC Affiliate Campaign is Live

I started my very first PPC affiliate campaign with Google AdWords yesterday.  I was wondering if anyone could check out these two landing pages and offer suggestions as to which is the better one?

I’m thinking that the direct approach would be best because it requires less for a person to do.  However, if I direct the ads to my article, I might have a better chance via the pre-sell.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.  It’s difficult to find information on this, as everyone wants to sell you something or they’re too afraid that you’ll somehow steal what they’re doing and put them out of business.

Hey Desty, just got your email :-)

I don’t think either of them are really good options. The problem with going direct is that you have no control and aren’t giving your visitors any added value or extra reasons for signing up. The problem with your blog post page is that there are way too many distractions. Adsense, navigation links, review me, top commentators, MyBlogLog, etc.

Of course, you need to test different approaches to really find out which will convert the best, but I would recommend creating a dedicated landing page. Include a presell, review, preview, and personal insights. Give the reader a compelling reason to want to sign up and try not to distract them too much. Almost every link on the landing page should be something that you “want” them to click on.

Good luck!

Derek is right. My suggestion is based on what I’ve heard and read about pre-sell pages converting well. Instead of using that puny ad-riddled blog post, try creating a page in WordPress, rather than a post. Remove all ads from it–the only thing you’re selling on this page is Blog Mastermind. Write a much more thorough review/testimonial of it and make sure you’re honest about what it’s done for you and mention specific things you’ve done in following it that have helped you. Sprinkle with your affiliate links. Good luck!
