AdBrite Ad Zones Removed From Desty Online

I was surfing over to Desty Online yesterday. My normal route before writing a post is to check email, answer some comments, check out AdSense (wishful thinking), visitor numbers from Feedburner, and maybe hit up the ol’ Google Reader to see if anything immediate has been posted. Anyway, I just hit my bookmark for Desty Online and suddenly I get one of those annoying pop-up ads that tries to look like a Window’s system message saying I may have spyware on my computer and offers to download a spyware scanner. Great, I think, I got some junkie adware somewhere. I run my three different adware scanners and come up blank.
I asked a buddy of mine to check out my site and he got the exact same thing. There’s been only one change to the site in recent days: AdBrite. I switched the lower home page banner from AdSense to AdBrite. I had requested family friendly ads, but was getting “hot college girls on video.” Now, I love hot college girls as much as the next guy, but that’s not what I want advertised on my site about online business. Now, on top of that, getting the interrupt ads, I’ve gotten a bad taste from AdBrite, so not only has the banner switched back to AdSense, but I’ve also pulled the AdBrite referral from the sidebar.
Am I over reacting? What’s your take on it?

Bring back the hot college girls!
Seriously, intrusive ads are a big no-no. I never saw them because I use ad-block.
I have a pop-up blocker but for some reason it didn’t react to them.
Heh, I got in trouble with my wife just because I wrote about hot college girls. She would have freaked if she saw the ad…
AdBrite sucks. If you haven’t checked out Auction Ads, they’re pretty cool.
I did check out Auction Ads, but I didn’t really think they would fit with Desty Online.
Great post man, I have subscribed to your feed
