Desty, aka Shawn, is a husband and father of two little boys, ages 3 years and 10 months.
Going back to 2001, Shawn became interested in businesses, investing, and real estate as a result of manager level training he received from a F500 company. He started reading books on money and investing. It wasn’t until 2004 that Shawn and Jennifer (wife) became comfortable enough to actually get their feet wet and start a small candle distributing company. Conflicts with the supplier on contracts and changes to terms of service brought an end to that company, but it taught valuable lessons. Jennifer joined small make-up companies solo while Shawn started researching into stocks and investments. Flash forward to July 2006, Shawn and Jennifer start a small food stuff distributing company. August, Shawn creates an EBay based sales business; due to the ever changing market and availability of product, it folds the next month. Lessons learned along the way start to build the foundation of Shawn and Jennifer’s current venture.
The handle Desty comes from the mid 1990’s when Shawn was playing a MUD (multi-user dungeon) titled Valhalla. His alias was “Destroyer” based off the same titled novel series and movie about Remo Williams and his master Chuin. If you haven’t read it, I suggest that you do! Anyway, as the months and years rolled by, Destroyer came to be known to his online friends as Desty. Valhalla fell to the scrap pile of the ages and Desty went forth into the ether to find new worlds. Problem. The name “Destroyer” was almost always taken or a banned name, so “Destroyer” forever became Desty. The world of MUDs and MUSHs blended together until finally it was left behind and Desty went into a deep sleep when Shawn met Jennifer.
Shawn and Jennifer were wed on June 1st 2002 at a small church located in Sullivan Kentucky. Shawn was working for a Fortune 500 company in the transportation department and Jennifer was a homemaker living in Russellville Arkansas. Jennifer’s father fell into poor health from chronic conditions. A transfer was requested and denied, so Shawn quit and they moved back to Kentucky. Shawn got a job with a small transportation company that services the major automotive companies in December 2003.
In March of 2004, Shawn and Jennifer celebrated the joyous birth of their 1st son, Michael Dale. Michael was joined in September 2006 by William Matthew.
